Universal’s first theme park built for families with young children is opening in 2026, and we’re getting official details for all the lands, including new concept art for many of the park’s rides. From seeing a baby dinosaur at Jurassic World Adventure Camp to meeting SpongeBob SquarePants in Bikini Bottom, this resort will offer more than just kiddie rides.
Let’s check in on the new park and hotel, being built now in Frisco, Texas, and see what we can learn in today’s news update. See the video version of this story below for additional information.
Universal Destinations & Experiences unveiled more details for the seven themed lands of Universal Kids Resort. This new theme park resort is being built now on 97 acres of land in Frisco, Texas.

- Jurassic World Adventure Camp
- DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar

We’ve seen these names in trademark applications over the past year or so, including many of the logos themselves.

Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club
Going through each of the lands for the new park, starting in the center, we have the Minions vs. Minions land.
The official description says Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club is “where the Yellow Minions attempt to rein in their Purple counterparts leading to water-soaked fun. Families can take part in this action-packed competition, or just relax, and watch the chaos unfold. With a special Minions meet and greet and interactive play areas, there’ll be plenty of surprises.”
The centerpiece for this area is a wild raft ride, and we can get a good look at pieces of the ride vehicles in photos from Diservations.

SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom
The official description for SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom says it’s “where kids and their families can have the best day ever as they get to meet SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star and Sandy Cheeks in Bikini Bottom since “F” is for friends who do stuff together. There’ll be oceans of nautical nonsense as kids can explore Mussel Beach for some rest and Pineapple Paradise for some playful splashing around.”
Looking at construction photos we can see some of the rides coming to this area, like this Rockin’ Tug ride seen above.
There will be a flying spinner ride, and these photos are the ride seats for it. There appear to be several color and design variations for the ride vehicles.
Another attraction is a Watermania dual spinner ride. This barrel ride vehicle for the ride can be seen, with mounted water cannons attached.
A final ride for the Spongebob land is another spinner, this time a Roundabout, and themed as SpongeBob’s boatmobile, as seen in these photos of the ride vehicles.

Jurassic World Adventure Camp
Universal says that Jurassic World Adventure Camp allows families to get up close with some baby dinosaurs and put your exploration skills to the test. “Here, you’ll brave exciting rides like Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster and Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin, scale the Lookout Towers for a Pterandon’s eye view of the park and come face-to-face with a baby Raptor.”

Here is a recent construction photo featuring the Lookout Towers and the Cretaceous Coaster.
In this close up shot we can see the Mr. DNA style graphics along the central beam for Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin.

Puss in Boots Del Mar
Universal says we’re “just in time for Del Mar’s kitty adoption day! Join DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots, Mama Luna and Perrito for the feline festivities—including meet and greets, attractions like Swings Over Del Mar and Mama Luna’s Puppet Show, classic carnival games, delicious food and a relaxing sensory garden.”
Here is how the Swings Over Del Mar ride looked when it went vertical over the summer. It appears to be a Zamperla Flying Carousel ride system.
Trademark applications that may be related to the Puss in Boots land include one for Mama Luna’s Adopt a Kitty Day!

Shrek’s Swamp
“In DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, meet Shrek and Fiona as they take you through their fairytale—or ogretale—love story. Splash around in this waterlogged paradise built especially for Shrek’s triplets at Shrek’s Swamp Splash and Smash, and take a ride on Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After to hear how an ogre and a princess were enchanted by love.”
The Happily Ogre After ride appears to be an outdoor Zamperla Convoy ride, and here is a good look at one of the ride vehicles. Thanks to this photo from Diservations we can even see how the hood ornament is an onion carriage.
A recent trademark application shows a logo for what could be a gift shop within the Shrek area, named Triplets Treasures.

TrollsFest
Universal says “welcome to DreamWorks’ TrollsFest: the wildest party in Troll Kingdom where you’ll dance, sing and play alongside Poppy and the gang. Get your Trolls on at Sparkle Shine Glitter Glow, then dance like no one’s watching at Trolls Pop It Up. And it wouldn’t be TrollsFest without a visit to BroZone Cones.”
This land will feature three interactive play areas: Poppy’s Playland, Trolls Critter Crawl, and the sensory garden.
A roller coaster can be seen being built in this area, as seen above, with coaster cars that look like the one in the photo below.
A trademark application was filed for the full color logo for Sparkle Shine Glitter Glow just this week.

Isle of Curiosity
The final land for the park is called “Isle of Curiosity,” which acts as a sort of hub, at the entrance to the park. When Universal Kids Resort opens in 2026, this is where you will find Gabby’s Dollhouse characters and snacks.
Located behind the resort’s 300-room hotel, this area will also feature the park’s largest gift shop, seen in concept art above.

In-Park Hotel and Map Updates
Earlier this year permits were approved for the colors and murals to be added to the in-park hotel.
Here is a look at the several murals which will be seen on the wings of the hotel, all featuring various characters from the lands of the park.
This official concept art of the hotel also shows off the resort’s main logo sign, set in front of the hotel and theme park entrance.

An updated version of the official concept art for the park was revealed during the city council vote for the hotel graphics.
