Planning One Full Day of Memories at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Lights, camera … action! An action-packed day awaits you and your family at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and planDisney panelist Kay B. is here with all the tips and tricks you need to know to make the most of your Disney day! Here is Kay’s plan for your day:

Hollywood Boulevard at Disney's Hollywood Studios

When people ask me why my family keeps coming back to Walt Disney World, the answer is simple: there’s just no other place where you can do this much in one day. You can spend an entire day inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios and, let me tell you, it delivers on so much value, variety, and fun for the whole family.

With three kids, twin teens (14) and a 4-year-old, we’ve been visiting since they were babies, and every time, Hollywood Studios surprises us with just how much there is to do. From epic attractions to Broadway-like shows, to character sightings and unforgettable meals, this park is packed from morning to night.

Here’s what a full day might look like:

Morning: Kicking Off the Adventure

We like to start our day with Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. It’s the perfect first stop because it sets a playful tone for everyone. Our kids love being “pulled into a cartoon” alongside Mickey and Minnie. It’s the perfect ride for all ages to enjoy together.

After that, it’s time for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, an amazing adventure that puts you right in the middle of a Star Wars battle. My teens always walk off in awe.

Before lunch, we make sure to head over to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The plunge into the Twilight Zone is heart-pounding fun for the brave ones in our family.

Midday: Lunch and More Fun

By now, it’s time to refuel. We like to grab lunch at Roundup Rodeo BBQ, where stepping inside Andy’s playroom for a family-style meal is just as much fun as the food itself.

After lunch, our little one insists on riding Slinky Dog Dash. This family-friendly coaster is pure joy. We can’t help but laugh together as Slinky Dog zips and zooms through Toy Story Land.

We also love catching a show midday. Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After keeps the teens entertained, while our 4-year-old lights up watching The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.

Afternoon: Snacks, Characters, and Exploring

The afternoon is a great time to slow down a little. We’ll grab ice cream at Hollywood Scoops, our 4-year-old says it’s always the right choice and then wander the park for character greetings. From Disney Junior pals to Donald Duck, these spontaneous moments are some of the best memories we take home.

If we’re in Toy Story Land again, a quick stop at Woody’s Lunchbox for totchos or grilled cheese is a family favorite. For a Star Wars fix, Oga’s Cantina is our go-to lounge for out-of-this-world drinks in a playful setting.

Evening: Dinner and the Grand Finale

Dinner at The Hollywood Brown Derby makes us feel like we’ve stepped back into the Golden Age of Hollywood. The Cobb Salad is iconic, and it’s a nice way to relax before the big finale.

We always close our night with “Fantasmic!”. Watching Mickey take on the Disney villains in this spectacular show filled with water, fire, and fireworks is the perfect way to end the day.

A Full Day of Memories

From morning to night, there’s just so much to see, do, and experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Between the attractions, shows, character sightings, snacks, and unforgettable meals, our family can easily spend a full day in the park and still leave wanting to do more.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios truly offers something for everyone, whether you’re 4, 14, or just a kid at heart.

That is a great deal of fun packed into one day and let’s not forget that guests can access the park via a complimentary ride on Disney Skyliner, grab a free celebration button and hit the road searching for the elusive hidden Mickey’s!
